in order to offer the international signal, as we know it, and also separate feeds for each athletes. It's very simple why the cross country races are never offered as separate feeds. For
the athletics - in the field events - the competitors race each by
each. The
tv direction can't follow the athletes each by each. But we have also to consider that each athlete and all the athletes pass in front of one camera and cross the timing station in the field of view of that camera. At the end: - we
can't see the performance of each competitor shot by every camera
of the Obvan In witch way the separate signals could be realized?
The same cameras and the same timing equipments can be used for the mass start races, Gundersen or relays. In this case, graphics will give the order of classification and the distance from the first athlete. In this way, as for the spotter system (pre-timing system) every broadcaster knows the own athletes arrive at the timing station, they can pass from the international to the dedicated feed. I think that the chance to see own athletes widen the interest on the Nordic Ski to a lot of Countries and it could improve this magnificent discipline. You can find this proposal on the Internet link www.sportregiatv.it (Altri sport - Fiemme 2003). I ask you to think about the reasons and the practicability of my proposal and give me your opinions and suggestions, before the next Pre-World Championship. Thank you.
FIEMME
2003 – WORKSHOP 9/5/2001 We agree about:
VAL DI FIEMME 2003 - FILOSOFIA DI RIPRESA - APPUNTI I have to say some words about the working in progress for the coverage of the WC. During last months we made three surveys, for the 5 km East, 5 + 2.5 km West and the Stadium. What are the criteria we have been worked? For
the mass start races, gundersen and relays, we archive to cover the
entire track. In this
way, we think to ask 3 timing stations for each track, East and West.
The forth timing station could be available at the Stadium. For the mass start races, gundersen and relays, the same tracks are covered by 23 cameras at East and 20 cameras on West. At the stadium, we will have 14 cameras, for starting, passing by and arrivals. We will follow the athletes by a rail camera of about 70 mt; we will use 2 12 mt cranes and one platform, 30/40 mt hight like a beauty shot. Maybe we will use also some microcameras under the snow. You can see the result of the coverage and the positions of the camera on the map. Our
philosophy? Our aim is to correctly show the event, exciting the performances
of the most possible number of athletes. |
